How to delete pages from a PDF
Last updated: 1 November 2026
To delete pages from a PDF, open Remove PDF pages, click the pages you want to remove (or type them, like 2, 5-7), click “Remove pages” and download the new file. The new PDF is built only from the pages you keep, so the removed pages are really gone from it.
This guide is for anyone who needs to drop blank backs from a scan, a cover sheet nobody needs, or an extra page at the end of an export. It also covers the page range syntax, how to check the result, and when it is easier to pick the pages you want to keep instead.
Step by step
- Open the tool. Go to Remove PDF pages in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
- Select your PDF. Click “Select PDF file” or drop a PDF onto the page. You will see a preview of every page.
- Mark the pages to remove. Click each page you want to delete. It turns red with a check mark, and the field below the pages lists it.
- Or type the page numbers. In the field below the pages, type numbers and ranges such as 2, 5-7. The previews update as you type.
- Remove the pages. Click “Remove pages”. Your browser creates the new PDF on your device.
- Download the new file. Click “Download” to save the PDF without the removed pages.
- Check the result. Open the downloaded file and page through it before you delete or replace the original.
How to write page ranges
The field below the pages always lists the marked pages, and anything you type there updates the previews. For long documents, typing is faster than clicking.
- Single pages: separate them with commas, for example 2, 9.
- A range: use a hyphen, for example 5-7 marks pages 5, 6 and 7.
- To the end: leave the second number off, for example 10- marks page 10 through the last page.
- Mix them: 1, 4-6, 10- combines all three.
To remove the blank backs of a double-sided scan, you can mark every odd or every even page with one click instead of typing them.
Keep the original and check the result
The tool gives you a new file to download. Treat the original as your backup until you are sure the new PDF is right.
- Save the downloaded PDF under a name you can tell apart from the original.
- Open it and check the page count and the first and last pages.
- Look at the pages around each spot where you removed something, to make sure you did not remove a neighbouring page by mistake.
- If something is wrong, run the original through the tool again with corrected page numbers.
If the original had bookmarks, note that the new file will not have them. The pages themselves are copied as they are, with no loss of quality, and the file is often smaller because the removed content is not kept inside it.
When to use a different tool
You want to keep only a few pages
If you need three pages out of fifty, it is quicker to pick the pages you want than to mark everything else. Use Extract PDF pages: click the pages to keep or type ranges like 1-3, 7, choose “One PDF” or “One PDF per page”, then click “Extract pages” and download. Your original PDF is not modified.
You also need to reorder or rotate pages
Use Organize PDF to drag pages into a new order, turn single pages with the rotate button and remove pages with the bin button, all in one go. Click “Save PDF”, then “Download”. “Reset” takes you back to the original order if you change your mind.
The PDF is password-protected
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then remove the pages. You need to know the password.

Frequently asked questions
Can I remove several pages at once?
Yes. Click as many pages as you like, type ranges such as 1, 4-6, 10-, or mark every odd or even page with one click.
Are the deleted pages really removed from the file?
Yes. The new PDF is built only from the pages you keep, so the removed pages and their content are not hidden somewhere inside it.
Will the remaining pages lose quality?
No. They are copied exactly as they are, without re-compressing text or images. Bookmarks of the original file are not carried over.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device, so you can clean up contracts or bank statements safely. See the privacy policy.
Can I delete pages from a PDF on my phone?
Yes. Open the tool in your phone’s browser, tap the pages to delete, then remove them and download the new file. You do not need an app or an account.
Is there a limit on how many files I can process?
There are no daily limits and it is free. Very large PDFs depend on how much memory your device has, because the work is done on your device.
Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. See the privacy policy.
