Most forms, offers and agreements only need a visible signature – plus initials, the date, your name or a few ticks. With PDF4U you create your signature once – drawn with your mouse, finger or pen, typed in a handwriting style, or from a photo of your signature – and place it wherever it belongs, on as many pages as you need. Then add initials, today’s date, free text such as your name or city, and check marks or crosses for boxes on a form.
Your document and your signature stay on your device: the PDF is signed by your own browser and nothing is uploaded. Note that this adds an electronic signature (an image of your signature), not a certificate-based digital signature.
Typical uses: sign a rental agreement, an offer letter, a school form or a delivery note and send it back without printing anything. You can place the same signature several times, for example on every page that needs to be initialled, and move or resize each one before you save.
How to sign a PDF

Place it

Is it safe to sign documents with PDF4U?
Yes. Your PDF and your signature are processed by your browser on your own device and are never uploaded, so nobody else can see them.
Is a signature made with PDF4U legally valid?
In many countries a simple electronic signature like this is accepted for everyday documents, but the rules depend on your country and the type of document. It is not a certificate-based digital signature; if a contract requires a qualified or digital signature, use a certified signing service.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes. Draw your signature with your finger, then drag it into place. PDF4U works in modern browsers on Android and iPhone.
Can I add the date, my initials or a check mark?
Yes. Under “Add more to the page” you can add initials, a date (today’s date is filled in; pick the format you need), any text such as your name or city, and check marks or crosses for form boxes. Dates and text are written as real text, marks as sharp vector lines. Go to other pages with the arrows to place items there too.
How do I get a clean signature from a photo?
Sign on white paper, take a sharp photo in good light and upload it with “Remove white background” turned on. The paper becomes transparent, so only the ink is placed on the page.
Does PDF4U keep my signature?
No. It exists only in this browser tab while you work and is gone when you close the page.
