Upload file-size limits of 22 Indonesian portals (2026)
Last checked: 24 October 2026. Every number is copied from the official source linked on its row.
Indonesian application portals often reject files as “too large”, but the limit differs by portal and year: anywhere from 100 KB to 6 MB. This page collects the limits written in official 2026 documents, with a source link and a check date for every row.
We only publish numbers that an official source actually states. Portals whose numbers we could not confirm are listed under “Not included yet”, with the reason.

How to shrink a PDF to fit a limit (free, in your browser)
- Merge first. If the portal wants one file, combine all pages with Merge PDF. Photos of documents can become a PDF with JPG to PDF.
- Compress. Open Compress PDF and start with “Recommended”. If it is still over the limit, choose “Extreme compression” or set the image resolution (dpi) and JPEG quality under “Advanced settings”. There is no “target KB” button, so check the result size and repeat if needed.
- Remove unneeded pages. Large PDFs often contain blank pages. Use Remove PDF pages or Extract PDF pages before compressing.
- Check before uploading. Make sure the text is still readable and, if the portal has a lower bound, that the file is not too small.
Do not upload ID documents to other websites
ID cards, family cards, diplomas and certificates contain personal data. pdf4u processes files in your browser: files are not sent to our servers, you do not need to sign up, and it keeps working once the page has loaded. For documents like these, choose a tool that runs on your device instead of one that asks you to upload.
Not included yet (and why)
These portals are searched for often, but we could not confirm their numbers from a recent official source. It is better to publish no number than a wrong one.
- SSCASN (civil-service and PPPK recruitment). The limit is set by each agency’s announcement and changes every year. The 2025 agency announcements we read use 500 KB to 1,000 KB, but we found no official national figure for 2026, so we do not state one.
- LPDP scholarship. The official LPDP help page only says to compress PDFs “to the application’s limit” without a number, and the 2026 guideline we opened does not give one. A 1 MB figure appears in an older (2022) manual.
- KIP Kuliah. In our search, the national KIP Kuliah pages state no upload limit; the figures in circulation come from individual universities.
- Coretax DJP (tax-return attachments). The DJP FAQ page we found says 40 MB but is undated (copyright 2022), and other sources give different figures. We do not publish inconsistent numbers.
- M-Paspor (online passport). The only official statement we found (Directorate General of Immigration, August 2022) says file size is not limited; there is no newer statement.
- SNPMB account photo. The SNPMB help page that mentions an 80–300 KB range could not be opened directly when we checked, only a search summary, so we do not include it.
How we checked
- Each number was read directly from an official document or page (a PDF guide, a university announcement, an agency page), not from blog posts or news.
- A row is included only if its source is from 2026 or a live official page when checked on 24 October 2026. Numbers are copied as written, not rounded.
- Limits can change by intake round and admission route, so every row links its source and states the source date.
